The return of the Glory days seems to be lurking around Old Trafford these days. After three full seasons of both domestic and continental disappointments, Manchester United have reacted with the appointment of serial title winner, José Mourinho. Following Mourinho’s appointment, there has been a number of signings as well: Zlatan Ibrahimović, Henrikh Mkhitaryan, Eric Bailly, and at least one more impending fourth signing that is rumoured to be a huge one. All these additions, coupled with the launch of their new home jersey, have brought huge excitement to the mind of Manchester United fans.
Manchester United 2016/2017 Home Jersey
As are virtually all United’s Home Jerseys, the 16-17 season jersey is their traditional red colour. The catch with the upcoming season’s jersey is that it features two shades of red, divided halfway through the shirt. This detail is extended on to the sleeves, while the halfway division of the front halves is done through a vertical line of hexagonal details.
The new home jersey showcases a modern collar which blends in with the rest of the shirt, while there is yellow and red Newton Heath plaque-like graphic displayed on the inside of the shirt.
The front of Man United’s 16-17 Home shirt contains the official club crest, the Adidas logo, and the Chevrolet Sponsor print and logo centre-aligned beneath the bunch.
The complete Manchester United Home Kit for the 2016/2017 season will feature the red shirt and white shorts, along with black socks as one option. Alternatively, the Home Kit could feature the red shirt plus black shorts and white socks in some games.
